Agricultural Insurance Scheme
The National Agricultural
Insurance scheme has been implemented in Haryana state from Kharif,2004. Bajra,
Maize, Cotton, Arhar in Kharif season and Gram and Mustard in Rabi season.

· For the assistance farmers may be contact to local banks / Deputy Director Agriculture at district level.
· Wheat Insurance:- State Govt. also implemented wheat insurance on pilot basis in Ambala, Karnal & Rohtak districts in Rabi 2005- 06. This scheme based on Crop vigor and temperature. The policy is optioned for all farmers. The progress of scheme is as under:-
A provision of 10% subsidy has been made for small & marginal farmers on the pattern of NAIS.

State
Govt. also implemented Varsha Bhima on pilot basis in Ambala, Karnal, Hisar
& Rohtak for four Kharif, 2006 crops namely Paddy, Cotton, Bajra and Maize.
The scheme covered two type of insurance.
1) Seasonal Rainfall
The aggregate actual
rainfall during the season is compared with the normal rainfall for the season.
The adverse deviations beyond 20% would trigger claim payout. full claim is
paid when the adverse deviation reached 80%.
2) Sowing failure
In case of sowing
failure options aggregate rainfall between 15th June and 15th
August is compared with the normal rainfall for the Period and adverse
deviation of 40% and beyond trigger claim payout. full claim would be paid if
the adverse deviation reaches 80%.

Modified National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (MNAIS):-
Four districts namely Bhiwani, Mohindergarh, Jhajjar
and Rewari have been identified by the State Government for the implementation
of Modified National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (MNAIS) on pilot basis.
